The elevator stopped suddenly, just short of their destination. The lights flickered and died. The emergency lights clicked on.

‘Help me with the doors,’ said Prime.

Together they managed to wrestle the doors open and this revealed that they were too far between floors to escape by that route.

They had only one other choice.

Standing on the top of the elevator, Prime and Daisy fought once-more with doors, though these definitely led back into the building.

Together they half stepped, half fell into the corridor. The doors slammed shut behind them.

‘So what’s this all about again?’ asked Daisy, extricating herself from Prime’s legs.

‘Contractual issues,’ said Marcus. He was fully-clothed in a tasteful single breasted black suit, white shirt and black pencil tie. He looked every bit the suave secret agent. He also had his gun aimed squarely at Daisy.

‘Why do they always threaten me,’ Daisy lamented.

‘Gun please,’ said Marcus, holding a hand out.

‘Contractual issues?’ said Prime, standing. She lifted her gun from her belt and handed it to Marcus, butt-first. ‘The contract is iron-clad and you’re just annoyed because he won’t play for you.’

‘The Colonel thinks otherwise,’ said Marcus with a smile. He gestured with his weapon for them to walk past. ‘No tricks now. At least, no more than the usual.’

‘What’s that supposed to mean?’ asked Daisy.

‘His company thinks they were conned–’ Prime explained.

‘Isn’t that the truth,’ said Marcus sarcastically. He followed Daisy and Prime down the corridor to the Penthouse suite door which was a large metal affair.

‘Um, what happened to the Church of Elvis?’ asked Daisy. ‘BSD? Sisterhood?’

‘Church,’ asked Prime, and considered. ‘Now there’s an idea.’

‘And aren’t we all friends?’
